RIP Arrested Development

''Now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together.''

Fox is throwing out the final 4 episodes of Arrested Development tonight. I just can't believe that such a brilliant show was unable to find traction and be at least a moderate success.

Will anyone else be watching the final 4, trying to laugh through the pain of knowing it's all over?

Man, what idiots! And don'tcha just love how they are treating the end...just tossing the last 4 on the air...fuc* sweeps etc. SOmeone on FOX clearly didn't like the show or someone on it or something. ABC is supposed to pick it up and hopefully make it the hit it was supposed to be.

FOX needs to get get it's head out of it's AMerican Asshole nod

Fox was more then fair with this show. With its first years ratings it was a miracle that it survived for a second season and after they brought it back and the ratings sank nobody would have brought it back for a 3rd season but because it was such a critical darling and a cult hit they brought it back again and it failed again last year despite heavy promotion in the beginning of the year. This was the first year where they didn't really give it much of a chance but it had already failed 3 years in a row.

I like the show but if the country doesn't like something they don't like something.

Also, why would they air something in a prime sweeps spot that nobody watches?

Fox was NOT fair to the show. After it won all it's Emmys...did fox bank on that? No. Fox also moved it around to "try" and find it an audience...thus making it even harder to find and get into. For one of it's top rated and critically acclaimed shows, it didn't invest a lot of time or advertising on it.

No matter it'll go to ABC and be a hit.

I would bet against that. I mean FOX even aired it after the Superbowl to try and draw viewers and it didn't work. You can't force people to watch a show.

I also read that Showtime is more likely to pick it up then ABC. In the same article inthe USA Today the creator said he's not sure he even wants to continue with it.

I never thought the show was all that funny. Maybe that's why it couldn't pull in a fanbase after 435495495 attempts.

No you can't force them to but you can make them want to. FOX's advertising for the show was scant and odd. FOX advertises the crappiest shows with some enticing advertisments, you'd think that they would take one of the top rated shows and do the same thing.

We're in a day and age where shows can't stay on even if they HAVE an audience (and they had a very loyal one) even if that audience is low. It's a shame that critcal accliam and a dedicated following can't keep a show afloat. FOX also disd thing to the show that wasn't very nice. This last example of tossing the remaining shows out on one night with hardly any fanfare (never saw an ad during 24...one of their top shows) is typical of how FOX treated the show throughout it's entire run.

FOX has some major network issues and having great shows that they don't push in the correct direction is one of them. See Firefly.

I cancelled my Friday night plans in order to stay home and watch. This is my favorite show of all time. (BBC's "The Office" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" are a distant 2nd and 3rd.)

I love everything about this show. The inside jokes, the wit, the crass, every single one of the characters, everything.

I watch Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD all the freakin' time. I am so very sorry this never found an audience. Hopefully, HBO or somebody will pick up it soon!!!!

If it's good and it doesn't get amazing numbers they will cancel it. Thank God Lost does NOT fall into that category.

It was treated badly in British tv schedules too. It always seemed to be on around midnight, on different days. It made it difficult to follow because I kept missing it.

One of the funniest U.S, shows ever.

You watch 'em yet? In my opinion, they were four of the funniest episodes to date. I need to rewatch them as I missed too many jokes, but man, oh, man am I going to miss this show!!!!!

And Tony Hale, Will Arnett, and Michael Cera are genius!!!

I've watched this show and attempted to fall in lave with it, but it just didn't grab me.

Anyway, I'm still bitter about the end of Six Feet Under. As far as I'm concerned TV could've ended as a popular medium with the demise of that show. sigh

The masses are too busy watching those dumbass reality shows. That's why it's going off the air. People do not want to think when they watch TV.

I hate it when the networks switch times and days of a weekly series. FOX has done it before and killed shows that way. It was only a matter of time before they'd do it again.

Stupid FOX. mad
