Keep it clean folks... I am looking at it from a colorful artistic display and the ability to decorate this place out to the max on a budget and create a fantabulous time!
As a sideline... we could hop over to Vegas for follow up.... 1 hour by flight 3 by car!

Count me in. I can help with the decorations. Maybe we can rent vans and set up a caravan to Las Vegas?

awesome site to check out for CHEAP party stuff in bulk http://www.orientaltrading.com I think the last catalog I got from them had a bunch of masks/beads/Mardi Gras themed items (Just looked and there is a Mardi Gras link on the front page of the site ) I would love to go (of course) but I don't think Jas would appreciate being left home with a 5-6 month old [Edited 2/10/06 6:08am]

Seattle is July 28th - 30th so it would have to be a workable date that doesnt inclue this time period..... and isnt to close to it so as to make it impossible for many to get away..

So as long as you call it 'Mardi Gras in August' or something, I'm good with it. |

(Which I guess is the Italian Mardi Gras, but at least people might not identify it with Lent) "The custom of Venetian Carnevale is a centuries-old ritual celebrated to announce the arrival of Spring and is marked by the donning of elaborate costumes and masks. A time of eating, drinking and general merry-making, the spectacle of Carnevale was also a time for people to hide or alter their appearance. Unhindered by identity, revellers of different social classes mingled without fear of repercussion."
