But Is It Art? This is intriguing...
Some weirdo has taken ten vinyl albums which had all been banned in the past (to some degree); burned them on a bonfire and then attempted to play them again! One of the albums is Purple Rain. http://brianjosephdavis.com/banned/

Mostly due to lyrical content. Purple Rain due to masturbating in a magazine.

banned in religions and at the npgmc. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

It's more like documentary art. I think it has its merits.

I just googled a bit and apparently Lets Go Crazy was banned in South Korea for unknown reasons and Purple Rain was the first album to carry a parental advisory sticker, after AL Gore objected to the lyrics of Darling Nikki.

I hear partially melted records. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Never Mind The Bollocks is in my top 10. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

i like the sound of the purple rain one. but is it really what those
records sounded like when he played them again with all the damage?? i find that hard to believe. it sounds like something deliberately mixed this way. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Co-sign. They sound like cool sample loops that could be used as the backbone of a hip hop song or an electronic piece. The "noise" is most definitely organized. I like the photographs of the burnt LPs too. Even they have been "stylishly burnt". It all reminds me a bit of Jean Paul Gaultier's clothes in Fifth Element. I remember that Empire magazine wrote: "You haven't seen a ripped shirt until you've seen a ripped shirt by Jean Paul".
