Sweden's women's hockey team just beat the US for the first time EVER and they chose to do it in the Olympics semi-final! Our goalie Kim Martin was frigging awesome and the rest of the team also played the game of their lives. Now we face Canada in the final and they'll beat us but hell, WE BEAT THE US!!!!!


Soooo, Sunday the men's team also beat Team USA, by 2-1 USA


Now watch us lose the QF against Switzerland or summat

Congrats on beating the US. I have confidence that my Canadian women's team will walk away with the gold medal and I'm pretty sure the Canadian men's team will win gold too. Perhaps we will see the Swedes on the podium too. Good luck.

I find women's hockey a bit, well, weird. And I'm from Minnesota. We have girls hockey teams in nearly every high school now. But more power to the girls for doing what they want.

But yeah, I would have given it up after a season just like I did gymnastics and soft ball and volleyball and everything else.

It's common for kids to want to try a bunch of different sports only to quit after a little while. Then when or if they find something they like they might get extremely passionate about it. If your parents didn't think hockey would be an appropriate sport for you they should have let you find that out yourself. And who knows, maybe you would have been in the Olympics today?

i applaud every woman hockey player out there right now as they have no doubt had to fight to get to play the game. this next generation have actually had some structure and support so the sport is bound to grow and get stronger everywhere!

and by the way... in four years i would bet that a little kid i used to babysit is going to be on our olympic team she is awesome.

NOT that this has to do with hockey,,,,But i just watched womens snowboard cross,,,& Lindsey(USA) (whatsher name) was WAY ahead of the other 3.

.well, she kept looking behind her to see how Far ahead she was so I guess she thought she's "celabrate" a bit prematurly by grabbin her board & showing off.....
DUMBASS! she fell & ran off the course...
Oh well,,,at least she got Silver,,,,,hehe
