Depending on the hardware your cable provider supplied you could get them to replace the modem with a wireless version or you may be able to use a wireless station and hang it straight off the ethernet (network) lead that now plugs in to your PC. Then you need a wireless card for your PC/laptop. Laptop would be PCMCIA and PC would probably be a PCI card or USB. Then you just get 'em talking and they all come with easy software to see what is going on. Hope that helps!

I dunno where you are sweetie or how much your cable company might charge but here in the UK you can pick a wireless router up really cheap. Or a kit for doing exactly what you want to do with all the instructions.

mdiver has the answer there.
There are different wireless speeds to take into account, too. There's 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11g with SpeedBooster. The last one is the fastest out of those three. Of course, that one is the most expensive to acquire the router and PCI card to, but not by too much. Personally, that's the one I'd go with if I were switching to wireless. Do check with your cable company, however, and see if they supply any of the equipment with their service. Here's Best Buy's wireless area to get an idea of about how much you'd be spending if you went with retail supplies: http://www.bestbuy.com/si...e=category
