AHEM! Back to the thread topic!

I'm cautiously optimistic. Brian Singer delivered the goods with the first two X-Men films, so he just may do it again with Supes. I'm not a fan of this costume either (the little superman just looks dumb), but the costume is the least of my concerns.

Word is that this new guy is really good. We'll see on June 30!!!

Although Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me, I for one really dig the new costume.

he looks a lil too close to Christopher Reeve for me. and yes the costume is a little too dark and unproportioned for my taste. he looks more like he could be Superboy. for me, Supes should have been a bigger more manly dude. not so....metrosexual.

i'll still go see the film tho. i'm a big fan.

I didn't like the x-men movies' stories or drama, but technically they are cool. This guy looks like his eyes are peculiar in that publicity shot with Lois, and his hair is combed too precisely and meticulously, his face also looks soft clean.... hmmmm. But it is a publicity shot. Do you remember how fucked up the publicity shots for Star Wars movies were around '77-'83?

You should see Spacey as Luthor. Looks sooooo much like Hackman's Luthor.

• It's looks nothing like the comics for one, stay true to your subject...
• The "S" sheild on his chest is way too small, makes him look wussy and weak
• It's 3-D plastic
• The red is very dark
• The cape looks like leather
• The "S" belt buckle makes it looks like he is trying to market and advertise himself
• The hip-huggin panties, make him look more gay than heroic
• What's that line down his arm?[/b]

Slap a couple of nipples on the costume & the ensemble is complete.

we haven't even seen how the cape looks in motion yet. the suit doesn't bother me, though i really don't know why some of the modifications were necessary. it looks good - some of the new trimmings seem a little superfluous, but they're harmless enough.

Yeah, I wasn't feeling the suit at first, but now it's not that big of a deal. A good story is what's important to me.

The pic that I posted was a fan's version of the suit. They are still using the other one. I don't have a problem with it. I'm actually looking forward to this film. I already have the teaser poster framed and hanging on my wall. I'm a bit of a Superman Nerd biggrin

Coming from a non comic-nerd, I think Superman is one of the least inspired superheroes. His costume is weak, and his powers aren't very creative; the whole thing is kind of generic compared to Spiderman, Batman, Hulk, etc.

I'm not saying his comics aren't good (or the movies for that matter) but I wouldn't expect to like his new costume, since the original sucked too.

Christopher Reeve was walking perfection.nod He was my first teenage crush so no one can eva take his place.
The new guy is a'ight, but he is nowhere near as cute as Chris. Plus, his thighs are too big and his legs are too short for the outfit. The boots are uncool and what the bloody hell where they thinking about with that ridiculous belt????? On the other hand, I luuvvvvv that they are keeping the original soundtrack. I ain't gonna lie, I'm getting in line to see it. lol I'm a Superman nerd, but mostly because of the cuteness of Chritopher Reeve.

Why don't you like the costume? That mo' fo' is HOT. I can't wait to see this film. The trailer gave me chills. Hearing the "Krypton" theme playing behind Marlon Brando... woot!

I love that too. SO glad they're keeping it. That theme is perfect.

there will never be a 'replacement' for christopher reeve no no no! i think even the folks that made the movie understand that.... he WAS perfection. his eyes, his features, his ability to be goofy as well as sexy and pull both off so well, not to mention he looked freaking beautiful worship

i have had my kids watch all the superman movies, and i even enjoyed them as an adult.. not sure if this new guy will be everything he needs to be to make it work, but hey, i guess we'll give him a chance shrug

i miss chris sad
