I just finished reading The Fifty Year Sword by Mark Danielewski, sent to me courtesy of the one and only Istenszek!
Right now I'm reading The Next Attack by Simon and Benjamin. Now that's some scary stuff. Plus I'm waiting for LleeLlee to get off her ass so we can read Memoirs of a Midget by Walter De La Mare. Let's go, git.

Haven't read it yet, but I am very interested.

I'm reading the Constant Gardener by John Le Carre. Good story.
I just finished "a million little pieces". Good story too, but it's a shame that most of it was lies. A real turnoff.

CHRIST THE LORD by Anne Rice
"Having completed the two cycles of legend to which she has devoted her career so far, Anne Rice gives us now her most ambitious and courageous book, a novel about the life of of Christ the Lord based on the gospels and on the most respected New Testament scholarship. The book's power derives from the passion its author brings to the writing, and the way in which she summons up the voice, the presence, the words of Jesus who tells the story." It's a very interesting read. noituloveryxesevolasildnaydnew

Haven't read it yet, but I am very interested. Their previous book The Age of Sacred Terror is better than this for the historical background of Islamicist terror. This one is more of a battle assessment. I hate to see these kinds of books written be experts, that are actually naming the enemy (Scheuer's book is another one) get labeled as either left or right. Sure there's a lot here that calls into question the actual successes of the Bush administration policy...but these policies are either effective or they're not.

Interesting, I am about to start reading 'The Two Faces Of Islam - The House Of Sa'ud from Tradition to Terror' by Stephen Schwartz.....are you familiar with that one?
