Craig Ferguson

Did anyone watch the Late Late Show last night?

I've taken to watching Ferguson during the late night Lucy-feedings. I've always liked his humor. His monologue is longer than the other late night hosts and that's not easy to do. Plus, he doesn't just have those one-line quips in response to the latest headline kind of delivery, though there's some of that as well.

Last night, he announced that his father had passed away over the weekend and that he would be turning the show over to that event. And then he gave a brilliant monolugue: he told stories about his father that were funny, touching. It was this wonderfully organic "stand up" routine (I guess you would have to call it). It was great.

He is a true raconteur. He knows how to tell a story and he knows how to tell a joke. This also usually translates well into his interviews with the guests.

I'm glad to se that the art of storytelling isn't dead in mainstream humor.

Anyone else see it?

I really like Craig Ferguson. Much more than I thought I would. He's a true talent. I'm so sorry I missed the aforementioned monologue.
