I get pulsed with prednisone when my RA flares up. I don't love being sick enough to need to take it but I love the side effects. It's seriously the only time I have a decent amount of energy and I feel "normal". I take other meds for long term treatment but they are sometimes as difficult as the disease to put up with.
Are you getting the munchies yet? Most people get huge appetites for the first few days of treatment. It's the only bad effect that I had...enjoyed it while I had them though. lol

Hope you continue to improve everyday. But don't let the doctors off the hook until they find out why this happened so you don't get a repeat.

eek i didn't mention all the chocolate i bought at walmart. eek

if this truly is pericarditis i may never know the real reason behind it. it's usually diagnosed as idiopathic, meaning that where it actually came from can't be discovered. and everything i've read on it says it's not uncommon for it to happen again a few months later.

So I'm taking PRednisone, righT?

hmm Anyone who cares about me and has read the thread about my hospital stay probably already knows that. hmm

SOOOO..... when i got the PREDNISONE prescription the doctor told me it's a steroid. i'm only taking it for TEN DAYS, in tapering dosage. the PHARMACIST said that this affects different people in different ways. she said some people can't sleep with it, may have MOOD swings, be really intensely happy or really intensely sad, be tired all the time, or some other weird stuff. i was like "OK".

sooooo.... i took the prednisone, and it seemed to be working. the chest pains started going away, and i'm thinking "yippee!! the inflammation in my pericardium must be easing off!!" woot!

except that now i'm HYPER!!!! i started talking A MILE A MINUTE!!! and i feel tired, but i can't sleep.

i need that little emoticon dude that runs back and forth yelling "woo hoo!!" excited bananadance excited bananadance

nuts

Glad you're ok now and back to your bubbly self hug
