Yes, you have me figured out... nod I scan the threads, looking for any and all mistakes, typos and grammatical errors, ready to pounce, solely for the enjoyment of making fun of the people who caused them. You were my latest victim, sir.

Not to take anything away from your intelligence - I'm sure you're a sharp little bugger.

You know what? Yes, I do have you figured out. Now I'm off to bed. Good night. yawn

the correct answer to Byron's post would have been:

doh!

would that person be labeled a ' flame retardant '?

Unfortunately I'm not flame retardant. I attract all them mufuckas. What I really need is some Pussy Repellent.

BTW, I wasn't suggesting this label to you. Tho' you responded to this with fun, I would never direct a remark like this to any specific Orger ( wouldn't be cool).

i wrote a huge bunch but i can't stay mad at america for too long... there's too many other aspects i like about the place even if there is MORE of everything over there - good AND bad things... sometimes the abundance gets a bit much...

but yes I kind of agree with the original statement!

bottom line is people, especially some yanks, should always use your own minds (or someone else will, as the saying goes) and don't let computers, or commuters, or the entertainment world, the service industry or any kind of bureaucratic system tell you SHIT!

I believe I will go over to your country to find the most idiotic people there. I will then make a similar short film. thumbs up!

American radio and news shows have tried coming up to Canada attempting to make similar videos on how ignorant they assumed we were of American politics and geography -sort of a reversal of Rick Mercer's "Talking To Americans" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w..._Americans ) They had very little success, and it's not known if any actually gathered enough valid footage to go through with it.

Obviously not all Americans are stupid -but when you've got an international reputation as being an undereducated, overweight bully maybe you should be asking yourselves why.

Ok I don't only blame video games, giggle but I think they are part of the problem.

As a teacher I see how kids have a much shorter attention span then we had when we were kids. They want everything fast and flashy, if they don't have HUGE amounts of stimulation they just zone out.

As a SPECIAL educator, I understand how our brains are "wired" and I think that the time these kids play video games is so extreme it is actually "re- wiring" their little brains before they have developed normally.

BUT....

The biggest problem is probably parents of kids today. Most parents work and most children( and infants) spend time in some sort of daycare where they do not receive the nurturing and attention they would from their mom or dad, there for the brain's syntaxes are not firing and being as stimulated as they should be. Therefore those early connections in the brain are not being formed. Add to that years and years of a poor diet consisting of take out, and microwavable crap, over crowded classrooms, poor funding for schools, poor educational programs in schools and a million other things....disaster is going to strike. I fear what the country is going to be like when I am old.

This is not fact by any means and I know there are many many good parents out there, this is just my opinion based on what my colleagues and I deal with everyday.

The average cannot possibly be 60! eek

It's not true the average WORLDWIDE is 100.

Anthing less that 70 is considered cognitively impaired.

This is most people,see:

We joke about our IQ being lowered by something but an IQ test scores your appility to problem solve, not what you have actually learned.

IQ's won't be lowered over time. SAT scores yes,IQ's no.

I think you're absolutely right Sweeny... I've read the literature on that stuff as well.

Like Prince said, "don't let your kids watch television until they know how to read".

Although, I think, within reason, 1/2 hr of educational tv for a kid every now and then isn't bad at all if it's time shared with the parent, if possible.

In my travels I've found Americans to be generally much worse at spelling at handwriting than the country I come from. I sometimes wonder if it has something to do with the simplification of the English language that America has introduced to the world?

Yeah I read a great book about it a few years ago regarding how there are important connections in the brain that need to be made at any early age and tv essentially not only makes them harder to make but destroys them if used in place of something TANGIBLE which stimulates the imagination, like a book. There's more to it, but I will try and remember/find the title for you if you want.
