smoking sucks and is the most addictive thing known to man. And now my fiance is pissed at me because of it. I HATE IT!!!!!

i am on my 24th day without a cigarette.
All you need is a little will-power and the desire to really want to quit.
The reasons i wanted to quit were money,health and on March 26th in Scotland smoking is being banned in public places.
I wouldnt call myself a non-smoker yet because i do still think of them sometimes.
On another note have you ever smelled someone who has just had a smoke?Its vile there is no way i ever want to go back to smelling like that.

yep it does. and quitting is going to take a few years for any smoker, no doubt... but hang in there and you won't believe you ever did... if you can just figure out a way to deal with stress without it.

I'm on my 5th day without a cigarette.

You can do it. The thing is you're going to have to want to.

I'm sure they want to get ya all nice and health so they will never have to see you again.

Seriously, the docs probably got something to help.
Eat a healthy diet
Drink lots of water
Do what SammiJ tells you
and you should live a long and happy life.

Hi there again to the smokers on this thread.

I don't want to sound like a salesman selling you Quit Smoking tips, but as an ex-smoker, here's a great one I have for you guys who are still in the throng of this nasty, expensive pain in the ass.

I quit no less than 13 times before I finally managed to rid myself of "the disease".

The ONLY way in the end was through will power and support from non-smokers around me. And something else which I will mention in a moment.

Sure, I gave in a couple of times later STILL, until I found my final solution for smoking.

HYPNOSIS. DEEP HYPNOSIS.

IT WORKS!

My particular hypnosis was an attempt at past-life regression and I managed to get at least as far back as the womb, as I was experiencing it.

Now, whether or not I actually went further than that in my memory is still debatable to me to this day, but I still felt I was experiencing something vital and life-affirming at the time. And what is amazing was that I could pick any time over my 27 years and GO THERE. So much so that I was thoroughly exhausted for two days after and it still makes me feel kinda overwhelmed if I think about it with any intensity. But it was also QUITE amazing and amongst other helpful things, it RID ME OF ADDICTION.

You need to do something like this whereby you completely wipe the slate clean inside yourself and are REPROGRAMMED, in a sense.

That is the only way to rid yourself of this drug forever, hypnosis or not.

So, other people have had other success stories in other ways, of course. Mine was hypnosis.

its just something that has to be worked on, thats all if he truely is ready to quit, its like riding a bike, you fall off a few times, but eventually you are riding like a champ

My boyfriend gets really pissed off at me because I just keep smoking. He says he's pissed because he saw what it did to his grandmother, and doesn't want to live without me. And then I get pissed because I know that he's right but I don't want to stop.

It sucks.

Try to remind yourself of this when/if you light up:
smoking takes 10 years off your life and put 20 years on your face.
