My Furnace is Broken!

Came home from work today, and turned up the thermostat on the furnace, because it was kind of cold in here. Waited a little while, but nothing happened. hmm So then I called my dad, told him what the issue was, and he came over and took a look at it. It turns out that the furnace seems to be warming up, but the blower is not working. pissed

After several attempts to call the heating/cooling company and getting a busy signal, I finally get through and talk to someone at their answering service. They tell me that they will page a serviceman, and he will call me back. The service guy is very prompt, I hear back from him within 10 minutes. He's coming over tonight to hopefully fix the problem, but won't get here until 10 or 10:30 pm.

This makes me mad that the furnace is again giving me trouble, since it was only installed like 5 or 6 years ago, and the warranty has long since expired. Wish me luck, the last time I had a service guy out here to fix my heating/cooling system, he had to order a part, and it took like 7-10 days for the part to come in. Hopefully it will be something that can be fixed tonight, since the temperatures are going to be dropping, and the weatherman is predicting snow. What a way to start a weekend. disbelief
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

hug Thanks, Maz. I'm trying to stay positive here. If worse comes to worse, I can always use my space heater to keep warm.

touched hug You are so sweet to offer to have me over, and I sincerely appreciate it. The repairman is here now fixing the furance, he says it was the control panel that was not working. hmmm In looking at the control panel, you can see several parts that are brown and look burned. I asked him how that would have happened, and he said most times it is caused by a power surge. He asked me if there was a power surge in the building lately, and I said, "No, not that I know of" (unless if it happened while I was at work). But still, if it was indeed a power surge, wouldn't it have knocked out everyone's furnaces too? hmmm Thank God the repairman had the part to fix it, pretty soon my furnace should be good as new.
