Kid #1 - Thanksgiving day. 435am, putting the bird in the oven with my mom. Soon as the pan hit the rack, my water broke! 18+ hours later (11:45pm),after some excruciating labor without drugs, I delivered via c-section due to a drop in her heart rate. Passed out as soon as I heard she was O.K. I had to beg someone to bring her to me at 6am. It was love at first sight. We stared at each other for about 15 minutes mushy. I tucked the sheets tightly around the both of us and held her on my chest. We both slept for the next 5hours just like that. I was awakened by my husband enjoying a plate of food from the house! I wanted to slap him! lol

Kid# 2 - Planned c-section due to story above. Epidural are a lot scarier when there's no pain of labor to distract you! She popped out and looked like a carbon copy of my husband. It was smooth sailing after the first one. I love her sprit. When she was born, she claimed her position in our family. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough love in my heart for her, but that all fell away when I saw her. She's named after my late grandmother, and I swear she acts just like her! May she never change.

Kid #3 - A total surprise that he is even here with us, but glad to have him just the same. I was a planned c-section due to kid #1, however I knew that I was in labor early. I tried to convince the doc that I was ready, but he didn't believe me. The nurse check me out and advised him that the contractions were 3-5 minutes apart! eek . I ended up staying and they delivered me that afternoon. The delivery wasn't as great as kid #2, but the end result was beautiful. mushy

Call me a wimp, but I am indeed, madly, in love with my children. All three are the greatest blessings of my life and I look forward to seeing what kind of adults they become.

1st child: Getting to the hospital, my car door locks were all frozen, so I had to open the tailgate and crawl to the front of the car to manually open the dumb doors. He was born the next day while "The Price is Right" was on television. One of the first things he did was lift his head up as he was laying on Rachel's stomach.

2nd child: MUCH quicker labor than the first. The doctor wasn't in, so an intern was called in for the delivery. The doctor showed up just in time for the birth but had the intern handle things anyway. I nearly received a speeding ticket while returning home that night, but got away with a warning instead.

3rd child: Another quick delivery. Evryone tells me that she looks like me, but I don't really see it until about a year later.

Oh! I remember now, being really worried about that! But as soon as I saw my second baby and loved him as passionately as my first, without loving my first any less, I came to the wonderful realisation that the love in our hearts can be limitless, bottomless, endless. mushy
