Saw "Capote" Amazing! It's a very quiet movie and Hoffman's performance (along with Catherine Keener's and Clifton Collins Jr) are amazing. Anyone who really saw the movie would agree that the movie as a whole as well as those performances are worthy of awards...It's not just Hoffman but he is the focus, and I udnerstand why. He gets totally lost in that character! He is Capote and that's what makes it a great performance...It doesn't look like acting...It's so natural.
BTW, after seeing this sure thing for Oscar nods, I'm going to see another movie that will be up for awards next year...."Big Momma's House 2" cause Martin Larwence as a fat black woman? Oscar worthy!

I want to see it so bad but haven't been in the mood for it the last few times I've had the opportunity. I hope to see it before it leaves theaters

Just get in the mood cause it won't be in theathers long (unless they hold it over for the Oscars...Hoffman has to at least get a nomination). The theather I saw it at had it playing on Thursday but not the following week (I guess it got pushed out by the new releases). It's theather count is going down, so I don't think that most theathers are going to be wait and see what happens. When I saw it (on a Thursday night) there were only about six other people....They all seemed older (at least older than me). This is not a hip date movie....Maybe girls want to see "Brockback Mountain" to see if their dates are sensitive but they won't drag the boyfriends to something like "Capote"....they won't even know who he is (they might know who Harper Lee, unless they haven't gotten that far in English class!).
