This is the hideous, new costume for Spider-Man.



The whole thing is suppossed to be designed by Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) so that explains the colour scheme and gadgets, but it still looks horrible. And what's up with the thing coming from his crotch? A Spider-Penis?

To me, this makes him look like Spider-Boy, kid sidekick to Iron Man. It certainly doesn't fit an iconic character like Spidey.

Guess Marvel learned nothing from the whole Clone Saga.

is this going to be for, like, one issue or something? or for an alternate-reality spidey? or for some mini-series? they're not serious, right?

i thought the whole "let's fix what isn't broken" era in comics came and went with the early/mid-'90s...

nice question mark in that banner. i'm sure it will be temporary - long enough to justify selling some action figures and stuff with the new costume. and then, i bet they'll have some other superhero take over a modified version of the costume and they'll be part of the extended spidey cast of characters. kinda like venom/carnage?

They could at LEAST use the red and blue.

Ok I hate Marvel....This is absolutely unacceptable. I can deal with Wolverine being on every team and on the cover of every comic book marvel comes out with.

But Iron Spidey is the fucking last straw....Im going to go to Stan Lees house and slap him for being a whore. I have to do that first cause it will like therapy.

Then Im going to their fucking headquarters and beating the brakes off of every editor and every writer there. While doing this I will be talking like Thor.

what the hell's going on with revamping old characters to fit in with what's "in" at the moment? warner brothers totally fuck'd up some of the looney tunes characters for that crap-de-la-crap cartoon that's on the wb now, they're "extreme" or some chit like that. WHY?

I actually don't mind the costume all that much. It's those raptor-like appendages that need to go.

That is just hideous!

The old Spidey costume is too engrained in the public's consciousness, as well as Marvel's merchandising machine. I can't really see Marvel making this a permanant change. I bet this'll last till Spiderman 3 comes out, if even that long.

DC did something similar to this with Superman back in the 90's. Anyone here remember Superman Blue? I didn't think so.
