you know, i think i am the typical case of someone
who would go out for a packet of cigarettes and do
a runner.

just start walking and never turn around anymore..

when pushed into that position i certainly will do
that.

I've made about 3 major moves in my life.

They were all for 2 main reasons:
1. The weather
2. Life experiences

Another point is that they were all done rather early in life.
The 1st was a "starting over" situation and the others were a continuation of what i'd started.

If you're "Unmarried Without Children", figure out what you want to do and just go for it while you have the time to enjoy the journey and/or recover from any bad choice you may make.

I completely feel you on this. I have a part of me that's a wandering sannyasin. I say if you want to move, move. In any case, take a big trip. Go away for a few months overseas.

I used to move a lot when I was young and then I got tired of not being able to develop long-term friendships and saying goodbye to folks and acquaintances I would never see again. So when I moved to San Francisco, I decided to make it a long-term stay. But I moved a couple months ago out of the city but in the same area and I LOVE coming home to a different place everyday. I was running FROM in a sense, but I am so grateful to be out of my past living situation. It's just FUN to be in a new place.

I still manage to travel a fair amount, whenever I get restless. I'm saving up for another big trip abroad. And I totally feel you about cutting loose those material possessions and living for others in a spiritual way.

I move towns often ... I get bored with my job and find a new one somewhere else every few years ... I like moving house and redecorating each place and garden etc ... make new friends with each move... I am all for change
