hi everybody....on holiday in tenerife, getting away from all the turmoil that is a relationship breakup for a week in the sun....anyway...just needed to moan about something and i thought i would let u all know about the worst aftersales service i have ever experienced after buying a apple ipod nano for my niece as a xmas present.
i bought the said item on december 2nd which wasnt tried until two days after xmas when it was discovered that it wouldnt start up,i myself tried it and nothing was happening, i knew it wasnt right as i had bought one myself two months previous. i took it back to the shop i bought it in (comet) after the new year expecting to be given a replacement ipod nano without any problems (this is a top of the range product supposedly???)
so the guy in the shop tries all the usual things to try and get it working and nothing....not a peep.....it is well and truly f""ked!!.....so then he goes on the phone and tells some guy from apple that he has an ipod that has been returned and blah blah blah....i have now been standing in the shop for 30 minutes while this is going on and i am still fully expecting to be handed a new ipod nano (how wrong i was!!!)
the guy comes off the phone and tells me that i need to take the ipod to some wee computer repair shop (nothing to do with apple) in glasgow where they would try and repair the ipod?????....i could barely believe what he was telling me!!...i had to trek to the other side of glasgow to leave a product which cost me 140 pounds god knows how long to see if they could fix it????
and do u know what put the cherry on the cake?????:::::they CHARGED me a ten pounds admin fee to get the ipod fixed when i got to the shop and i still havent got it back!!!!! u have been warned:::::c u all later

it's been a year since ive had my ipod

had one problem, it solved itself i suppose

sorry to hear about your dilemma. i got the mini nearly two years ago and sometimes it acts up. i can tell the battery lifge on it will die soon. pity there isn't a replacement battery for it.

Altho Apple in my view is tons better than Microsoft, they did hit and miss with the iPod line. oh well..... you'll sort it out.

personally, i don't rally feel that attached to myh iPod. i like it but i never get a chance to really use it as my commute to work is the only time i get tio listen to it. 15 minutes to work and 15 mins back home.

I swaped the battery out of my 3d gen iPod. The replacement battery comes with tools and a DVD that shows you how to replace it, step by step. It was easy as pie and the replacement battery lasts about a third longer than the original.

I feel your pain. I bought two iPods and both had to be replaced in the first six weeks we had them. I'd never buy another one.

I'm going to get an mp3/cd tuner for my car. It's the only place I ever listen to music and I'll be doing a lot of chauffeuring around this year. You can fit a lot of songs on an mp3 cd can't you? Probably more songs than I can think of anyway

all i know is, i LOVE my little 40GB Creative Labs Zen Extra Jukebox.

i'm able to fit most of my music collection on it, it's never wiped out on me, the battery has only gone dead on me once or twice since i've owned it, and i've never gotten any unpleasant surprises from it. very dependable little gadget. sometimes i think about getting an iPod, but it would only be so i can have more options w/ downloading iTunes stuff. if i knew how to download iTunes directly to my Nomad, i wouldn't be tempted to get an iPod at all.

Ipod is great for the gym. . so little and you can store it in ur pocket while working out

Most places these days give you the option of a replacement, so I think the store is a bit out of line, and you definitely shouldn't have to pay the cost of repair.

Look for your local Trading Standards office here, and then give the manager of Comet hell.....!

I had a fucking fit with my fucking Ipod shuffle when it didn't work...I couldn't fucking stand it! I needed to download an update and because my connection is so slow and only lasts for four hours, I couldn't do it. So that fucking sucked! But once I got it working, I dug it. I can feel your pain.

it was 4 my neice so i feel i have let her down....f%%king apple.
