Who has been the Marilyn Monroe of each decade? Since Marilyn has passed who has followed in her footsteps and become the epitimy of sexiness like she once was.
I think... Seventies...Farrah Fawcett...she was an icon at that time. Eighties....Kim Basinger...she just might be the most beautiful woman on the planet. I LOVE her!!! Ninties...I would say Pamala Anderson. She's a blowup doll but she has a warm personality like Marilyn. Millenium...you guys choose! | |

Exactly...you posted while I was searching for the perfect image of her. (So many to choose from...) Marilyn Monroe is the only other celebrity I dig as much as Prince...I own all her movies, numerous books and other collectibles. (I can quote Marilyn lines and facts and identify what year a pic was taken by her hairstyle or outfit--just like with Prince.) and I have to say there has never been another Marilyn and there never will be. Anna Nicole Smith? Please. Marilyn was much more than a sex symbol, she was a comedienne. Watch Some Like It Hot or How to Marry a Millionaire. Her comedic timing is fabulous. Being funny is often much harder than being serious... She studied method acting with the Strasbergs. Watch The Misfits, she may not have been the greatest dramatic actor, but she is outstanding in that film. She won a GOLDEN GLOBE for the Prince & the Showgirl. Farah Fawcett, Anna Nicole, Pam Anderson, Angelina...no way. They may ooze sex but they have nothing of the acting or the magnetic personality that comes across in Marilyn's films. She is absolutely luminous. Plus their sexiness is contrived, Marilyn's was natural. She was sex. Personally I don't think Kim Basinger is anything great, but she did win an Oscar, so that's more than the other four...
