Have you developed a phobia?

Have you developed a phobia recently? I say this because I got stuck in a church lift last week. I think we were paying penance as my friend Tom washed off ice cream with water from a font. I was completely frightened for the 15 minutes I was in there. The next time I got in another lift, I did feel a bit nervous.

What about you guys?

Nope... but sorry about your experience..... I think I would have laughed my ass off..... and made it a fun experience..... eek then the thought of it just dropping would cross my mind but I would supress it until I was out of the spot....

Well, it was 2 hours before a football match we were going to kicked off and I was in a foreign country which perpetuated the whole experience. We were all bursting for a wee in there aswell. It got to the point of me thinking about nominating a corner of the lift to pee in!

i have a very selective fear of crowds in enclosed spaces...kinda like claustrophobia, but it's more of a fear of being trampled or stampeded.

There`s one thing that really freaks me out, getting stuck under something. For example when i have to crawl under a bed to get something, and when i feel the bed on my back, i get VERY uncomfortable.

I hate elevators! I always avoid them if I can. Maybe it's because it's happened to me so many times that I've gotten stuck in them.

One of those times was better than the others though; it was in a hotel in London and it was just me and this other guy wearing a baseball cap and carrying a big toolbox in there. Suddenly the elevator stopped and the guy turned to me and said "don't worry" and as he turned I could see the text on his cap, which read "Dave's Lift Service" or something like that. We got out of there within two minutes. smile

I developed a phobia of wind a few years ago after it blew a stone chimney stack into my bedroom, where I was at the time! A 2 feet long block of stone landed where I had stood up from only a second before, along with a few others! So I think my inability to relax or sleep when its windy is to be expected - buildings are not invincible! neutral

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I don't have a fear of being in crouds. I just don't like it. Too many loud people acting all sorts of out of control. I enjoy peace.

Fear is just aniexiety run amuck.

In Today's society there is less to actually fear then at any time ever before. We simply loose control of our fear as the body trys using a very old tool of survival.

there was an overpopulation of spiders in chicago last summer...it made the news and everything...and those little bastards were NASTY looking, too. i could handle some wimpy little house spiders, but these things were BIG. shake

i hope it was a one-off thing and they don't come back, or else i'm gonna have to get all sigorney weaver and buy a flamethrower or something.
