I went fishing on my holiday last week and here is what I caught

a 45cm gummy shark (I threw him back, too small)

2 of these which I ate for dinner - YUMMY!

my sister in law caught one of these it had the prettiest colorful fins on the sides like butterfly wings.

and I nearly lost my rod when I caught one of these!!! had to cut the line it was so strong and swam so fast!

last time i went fishing the river was low, so i just went in my cutoff shorts and tube top (gotta take advantage of the sun) and waded down the river with my bait bucket on my belt! that was a great day, so relaxing! cool

If I encounter a real idiot I might punch him in the face, but I'm too much of a softie to catch and kill a fish. Go figure. shrug

I insisted most of the catch be thrown back, especially all the flathead - you only eat the tail, so it's a real waste to kill them. The size limit is 25cm, which is a really small amount of meat in the end.

do they have any pointy bits which can sting if they break your skin? looks like a bottom feeder - similar to our flat heads!

I think so...one of the (real) fishermen on the boat warned me to keep away from the dorsal fin.

Obvious question;
Can you use gummy worms as bait?
