ever hear about the lady that named her son " L'emonjello"..which ouf course is just Lemon Jello. (some say it's true, some say it's a myth)

but seriously, my black women LUV to put " D' " in fron of every damned name to make it sound exotic or foreign

D'angelo
D'Shon

and of course my middle name is D'Andre (my momma used to be ghetto in the 60's, but she's reformed now biggrin )

reminds my of my sister (yes we are white)

if my neice had have been a boy she would have named him T'Kai...i was like wtf??

even though the baby is half Jamaican come on....horrible name.

these poor childrne have to live with this name...

Pilot Inspektor
Kal-El
Apple

might as well just get them tattood at birth with a "Kick Me" sign on their backs

wink

Hey now. Remember what I said about Apple? It's really not that weird when you consider that Colby and Brie (cheeses for God's sakes!) are both in the top 200 most popular names currently.

I'd rather be fruity than cheesy. nod

Again, I know these aren't quite the same but...

Last week I spoke to a Mrs Ravioli. (It wasn't spelt that way but that's how it was pronounced).

And I just spoke to a 'Mr Dick'. Imagine saying 'How can I help you, Mr Dick?' in front of your colleagues. confused

Got another dumbass name story. This one's a family one. Yay!

When my uncle and his common-law wife (both white) were expecting their oldest, my uncle had set his mind on the Cree Native name Klee-wik. (means "the laughing one") My aunt insisted there was no way her child was going to have an "Indian name" -as if there's something wrong with that. (she even said this in my presence, knowing full well I'm half Cree) The name she eventually picked for my cousin?

Cheyenne. falloff

OMG! lol I have no need to get started on that name now. That was my first guess! There are sooooo many white Cheyenne's with not a hint of native blood in them. I just giggle to myself. I'm an apache/yaqui mutt mixed with some other things. smile

You're not alone. I feel pretty much the same way about it. Granted it is a pretty sounding word, but it's also a tribal name. Would it kill people to have a little respect?
