Just a couple of crappy shots of the new ink...most of you probably won't be able to tell where this is going but it's going to be so much better than what I had. All of the tribal is rounded out and is going to be filled in differently and there will be a background as well...it's gonna take a long time but I'm psyched!

that's interesting. i know a gal - joni- who's life's ambition was to cover her entire body in erotic tattoos.

when i last i saw her she'd about accomplished it, but was bumming out because applying for jobs was getting harder due to the need to cover up her (all-encompassing) tats. apparently her would-be employers were not impressed with her body art

i guess she should have kept the erotica tats to those harder-to-see areas.

I admit that I'm not a great fan of tattoos, at least not the "random" kind. If you're going to make a permanent imprint on your skin, it had better mean something and not just look pretty at the time you get it. Trends and tastes change over time...

I once read about a man who got a new tattoo every time I major event occurred in his life. He had emigrated to another country so then he tattooed something from the new country on his arm, he had a child so he tattooed her face on his chest near his heart, etc. I found that very intriguing. You could basically read his whole life story on his body. No matter what new phase he would move into or which new visual styles he would come to appreciate, these major experiences would always be a part of him and therefore deserve their place on his skin.

Do your tats mean anything special to you, Carrie? Or maybe you're just dead certain that you will find them equally stylish twenty years from now?
