if you have never skied before, snowboarding might be a better option.....it's much easier, you learn it quite fast!

NO way!
Skiing I picked up in about an hour.
Snowboarding took forever.

I think it's easier to learn to ski. To learn to do either really well is about the same.

Idiots, y'all don't know what you're talking about! Carrie, I don't believe a word of what you are saying, nobody picks up skiing in an hour! Snowboarding, if you have a sense of balance, you should be able to learn in about three days.....you're muscles will ache, but you'll be able to descent every slope. With skiing, a lot more technical stuff comes to show, even just because of the fact that there are 2 ski's instead of just one board. I've been skiing an average of 4 week a year, 30 years now..... so I am not going to be modest about this.....I know what the hell I'm talking about! Isten, watch out...it will take a while before you can practise control on the slopes.

Like I said, I have been boarding as well....when I was still in my teens! It was fun, but at some age the challenge was just gone! Gladly I found it again when I returned on ski's!
Phil, are you one of those boarders who doesn't know how to ski??? hah!

Maybe whichever you learn first seems easier, then? I learned to ski as a child. When I was about 10 or so. I only ever took one lesson. And away I went.
Snowboarding I learned when I was 18. I didn't feel like I really knew what I was doing till about the 3rd or 4th time I went. And I still can't carve very well. I would switch-stance all the way down the hill. redface I am ambidextrous that way, though. giggle
