IMHO it depends on your background....if you have skateboarded, surfed etc then snowboarding will be quicker to learn...if however you are starting from scratch then i would say ski, plus if you do that you wont get those stuck up skiers looking down at you....instead you can be one

Go for it! I can't ski but I bet it'll be an amazing experience. One of my mates goes to Austria every year and the pictures... unbelievable. SO gorgeous.
