My bill in June for 3 months was $80.00. I live alone and a guy so I use my George Foreman grill n don't really cook for one because it costs too much.
How could it be $80.00 when I live in L.A. and no reason to use heat? As soon as i heard it was gonna double and triple, I turned that ish off! Well, it has been one cold winter and I don't like to use my space heater cause of that sound the ceramic makes so i have been freezing my ass off, but, hey, at least I am not being overcharged for wearing three sweatshirts to bed, right? That is one good thing about living in the southwest. I haven't turned on the heat once this year. The electric is still about 220 a month. In the summer with the ac on constantly the bill will be around 350.
My friends and family who live in the Chicago area have had bills averaging near 400 this winter.

Gass Bill 88-180 dollars.
Oil Bill 250-488 dollars. Living in the valley of the sun where I am still using my air conditioning most days. Princeless. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Mine was $289.00 ,but our gas company has a budget program that will reduce or adjust your bill according to your income. I thought all gas companies did that?

The gas company here does have some kind of a program like that for low-income folks, but you have to meet a certain criteria in order to qualify to receive it (and I don't fall under those guidelines). They have a program where you can donate money to help the poor people pay for their gas. I'll bet donations will be down this year, because with the price of gas, people can barely afford to pay for their own gas, let alone some else's. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

The place I live is also about 800 square feet, so I know what you mean, it is pretty damn small. Way too small to be paying the amount of money that we're paying for utilities, that's for sure. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Okay, I have my furnace turned down to 65 degrees, let's hope that makes my bill somewhat lower. Thankfully, it has been mild outside (yesterday, it got up into the 50's!), so the furnace has not been coming on much at all. I'm not going to let these bastards at the gas company get me down, I'm gonna fight and win, even if it means bundling up a little more than usual and using my space heater to keep warm. Where there's a will, there's a way. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Maybe you all should think about moving. My heat hasn't kicked on since 6am this morning. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

Well, speaking for myself, moving is not always an option. Some of us poor folks just can't afford it. Unless if you're willing to donate the money to help us move. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Well, speaking for myself, moving is not always an option. Some of us poor folks just can't afford it. Unless if you're willing to donate the money to help us move. That isn't a reality. I have moved 4 times with less then 1000 dollars. "Not Ready" is a wall we like to put up in front of us so that we have to settle in the little cracks we have fallen into. Well, perhaps for you it isn't a reality, but for again, speaking for me personally, it IS reality. As a single woman who is supporting myself and is making a modest income, it's not affordable for me to just pick up and move. Besides, I have, in the past few months, found a great new job (after looking for many, many months, the economy here is lousy). I'm not going to quit a job that I love just so that I can move to a warmer climate, that makes no sense to me. For me, there are other factors that would go into my decision to move, not just to get away from the cold weather. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
