Casino or Goodfellas? Both simliar movies.
Martin Scorsese is an amazing director. If you could only watch one of them ever again which would it be? My vote goes to Casino. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Casino is basically a less great Goodfellas in every single way, but that's not bad considering Goodfellas is amazing. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Some parts of Goodfellas i find quite boring and some characters esp Ray Liottas wife extremely annoying. If I could only watch one ever again I might pick Casino, because I've seen Goodfellas about 50 times.
But which do I prefer? Goodfellas. Casino gets a bad rap as being too similar to Goodfellas, when it's really not. They just came out too close together with the same two lead actors. Raging Bull has similar elements, too, but nobody says Goodfellas is just a lesser version of it. Check this song out at:

I think that karen makes that movie and i definitely wouldn't love the movie as much as i do if there was no lorraine braco playing karen hill. even though she did put up with a lot of crap that no woman should have do deal with, especially inside of a marriage, she didn't just sit back and take shit from henry either. And that scene where she's at janice rossi's apartment building is priceless! I love karen hill!
anyway, the answer to your question would be goodfellas but it would be a hard choice considering that i love casino, too. | |

i think it was nice to have karen hill as an actual character, she could have easily been left in the background and the movie could have just solely focused on henry and his crew. kudos to martin scorsese for that. | |
