Yikes! I am bad - but what would you have done?

..and I want totally honest replies.. wink

Ok, last week I went into a newsagent to buy some things.

The women behind the counter were gossiping and not showing any attention who was standing waiting to be served - I was in a rush to get somewhere, so was willing them to hurry up and serve me.

When I finally got served I handed over a £10 note and waited for my change.

Silly woman was still gossiping and not paying any attention. She put the money in the till and handed me back change from a £20 note, therefore giving me back change and £10 that I had given her already.. eek

Silly MOO!

I wondered whether to fess up or not, but she didnt have a clue, so I thanked her, and took the money and left - saying a polite thank you while stuffing the money back in my purse..

lol

Dammit, well she deserved it.

So... if you were in my position...?

Answers please.. lips

it depends on the person working the till. it is their job to take care of the money.

i used to work at a supermarket and when you made a mistake (but found out right in time) no one ever said anything.

Hell yeah she deserved it. Her focus was supposed to be on the customer. I can't stand that at work. I'll be in the middle of an order and the customer wants to stand there and talk in my face, and they get mad when I ignore them. But if I do mess up from talking to them when I shoulda been concentration on the order, they come back in the store flaming mad like it's not they're fault my attention was divided. Then because I do ignore them and concentrate, they think I have an attitude problem when I don't. I can't win.

I am in charge of a group of cashiers at work, at this is our number one problem.

They are told over and over not to talk to each other while they have customers, and they just don't stop.

This time of year it is so slow they can pretty much talk all day so long as they focus on customers.

Then when they are short they are so surprised and it must have been this or that, not the fact that they won't focus

falloff Good for you, if they had treated you descend I would have disagreed with you, but in this case thumbs up! I hope they take it of her paycheck (no need for her employer to suffer for her stupid behavior)
