Of course there are people still in the closet. I was thinking about this earlier. Why can't those people do themselves a favor and just come out? Unless they're in some kind of crazy circumstance that prohibits them from doing so. But other than that...i mean the obviously gay ones, and the ones that keep on fucking up other people's lives just because they don't want to "embarass" themselves whatever and what not. More people are coming out now than used to, but there are a lot of people (especially teens still living at home) for whom it's just not safe. Honesty can get you kicked out fo the house, beaten, or killed. And this is in the relatively safe western world! I can't imagine how hard it's got to be for a gay person, especially an obvious one, in a country like Iran.

If that's what you were asking it really all depends on the individual and their circumstances. In a lot of circles, bisexuality is seen as something worse than just being plain ol' gay; something to be hidden. That's where the downlow problem comes from, in part at least. People (men in particular) either don't understand that you can be attracted to both sexes or they think they have to be straight -so they have girlfriends or wives and sneak around ebhind their backs with other men. If people could be open and honest about their desires from the get-go, there'd be no problem.


On the other hand, in some circles it's trendy and people will fake being bi for the cool factor! That's just as stupid, IMO


Whether you like boys, girls, or both -once you're on your own there's no reason to hide. Come on out and play in the rainbow with the rest of us!
