i have no reasonable explanation for either, they
just keep popping up at the strangest moments and
drive me absolutely bonkers.

The song Living Next Door To Alice by Smokey, and later mutilation by Roy Chubby Brown gets under my skin to the point of me physically shaking every time I hear it to this day!Noone seems to understand what it feels like to have the same lyric sung to you, or rather roared at you more often than the word "hello", every day for about five years!

actually, what i meant was a line from a song or movie

that pops into my head and stays there for a while.

same thing with the Prince lyric. i think it's a very
good lyric and i sang it all the time when i first got
the song on a bootleg.

i just haven't been able to shake it. ever.

as for a consistent one, there are many a Prince song, and "take a bow" are frequent visitors. oh, and "i traded fame for love," also from La M.
