omfg i love Borders!! There'z another place that breakz my heart when i go in. I want so many thingz!! Just bought a book on the topic of Surrealist Art. I'm really fascinated by the concept. Remindz me of Marxism. But i started reading it, and that's not it at all. Well not really. Perhapz i just see parallels with them both. But Surrealist isn't as angry as i first thought- well so far the book says in a nutshell that it's about non-conforming. Me likez already. After i read this book i wanna explore a few different surrealist artists- other than Dali. I mean it isn't necessary to try and make sense out of it- but where the artist is coming from is very much something i'm interested in looking at. I think i'm trying to see if there are any of these ideas that lie in my own sub-concscious...going by the sketches i do from time to time that i long to put on canvas but just seem to lack the time.

Anyways right back on topic!!

Have you read The Animal Farm? Not a romantic novel though. Actually i'd love to read Pride and Prejudice when i get the chance. Gone With The Wind even!

i'd have to reread it now as an adult and much more mature in my feminist beliefs and concepts of character, but it struck me as very fascinating the way everyone else tends to write her off as an idiot. i see her as more in control than anyone else in the book in a very subtle way.

Yah me too actually. And i can see where you're coming from on that for sure!! Time to dig up my old bookz me thinkz!! nod It's been about 9 years since i've read the book myself. But i know what ur talkin about nod thumbs up!

Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte
AND then:
Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys -> the Jane Eyre story from a different perspective ('the mad woman in the attic')

These books made a very big impression on me.
