Four Weeks O' Hell

...and counting...lol mad

Ok, not hell...but four straight weeks of 7-day work weeks, stressed-out clients, arguments on the phone with my "boss", complete with profanities (I'm an independent contractor so he's not really my boss, but...), being on-call 24 hours a day, regular all-nighters of staring at my monitor and getting backaches and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, screwing up my body clock even worse than it already was, going all day without eating then ordering a pizza at 10:00 pm and not being able to eat it until 2:00 am, falling asleep on the livingroom floor just from exhaustion, working around the clock and forgetting what day it is (this week I literally asked the cashier at the gas station "This will sound stupid...but what day is it?"), never sleeping more than 2 hours at a time, sometimes going days without leaving my apartment except to check my mail...all while trying to keep track of 427 emails a day coming from 63 different people all telling me contradicting info and making contradicting requests.

mad

But as Sweeny said in a text message the other day, "That'll make one helluva paycheck"... lol

So what's your most hellish stretch of work??...lol...Make me feel better about mine... cool

when i first started my machine shop i used to run about 10,000 of these little microscan parts.....i'd get up in the morning...feed the horses and get the kids to school..go to the shop, run parts....go home in the afternoon, feed and clean horses and kids...back to the shop to run more parts. lasted about a year and made a ton of money (spent it all lol) i did get about 6 hours of sleep a night though...and weekends. biggrin

Hell for me whas when I worked FIVE jobs while attending college full-time, just so that I could afford to stay in college. I never got to rest.

But Byron, sweetie, I think you got us all beat. Glad to hear you're free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, free at last! razz

Well, as far as jam-packed schedules go, my days attending art school are stuff of legend...lol lol...but the difference then was that I adored art school, so the hours/days/weeks on end spent there weren't considered hell... smile

Thanks for the encouragement, btw... hug (and Petra, your orgnote backrub is waiting...lol lol )

I've worked 48 hours in a row, I've also worked a 75 hour work week before. I think I've gone 3 weeks in a row without a day off before also.
