Basic iPod question This may seem like a silly question, but I heard someone say something contrary recently, so I thought it was worth checking;
An iPod is a storage device, right? So if I buy a 60GB iPod, but my laptop only has 20GB storage space, that won't be a problem? I shouldn't only buy a 20GB iPod? I can use the iPod without having to sync the entire thing to my computer, right? | |

So you can switch off the auto-sync setting? Otherwise it will try to upload everything back onto my computer each time, right? Can I choose what to sync?
Looks like you've already answered this - I just need clarification before spending around $400 on the 60GB one. | |

Looks like you've already answered this - I just need clarification before spending around $400 on the 60GB one. No no....all the auto-sync does is update your ipod....not your computer....it will only send info to your iPod on that auto-sync...you have to manually send it to your laptop... | |

Really? Interesting - ipod.com makes it sound like it goes both ways automatically. I must have misread/misunderstood.
