Fancy Dress

Two words that fill me with a bit of dread. Fancy Dress. Some people really get off on this - last party I went to that involved dressing up, one bloke came in as Hitler. I had a bit to drink that night and he looked exactly like him. A mate of mine took photos using his phone and you could have sworn it was the fascist dictator himself.

What's the worst costume you've encountered? Or worn? Or been made to wear? Pics too...

Fancy dress? shake Only under duress.

I shared my 30th birthday with someone and it was her idea to have a fancy dress party.

I went as Prince. The best I could do was buy purple satin trousers/shirt and a black Beatles wig. Someone asked if I was Myra Hindley. neutral

A mate made me the gold prince guitar - it was wicked, too - but, apart from that, you'd never guess who I was. lol

I have pics but they will NEVER see the light of day! disbelief

The worst bit was that I held it in Cardiff Students Union - the SAME night that Razorlight were playing. There was me dressed as 'Prince', one mate dressed as Daisy Duke, another as Mr T... you get the picture. Walking past everyone dressed to go see a gig was f*****g embarrassing! lol

you pretty much have to if you're going to attempt a prince-related costume...i mean, it's three hours in the mirror just to get into character.

Just out of interest: just how many people asked who you were dressed as? I can't imagine many non-fans would know who Gemini is. That was my worst nightmare - at least I had the prince guitar and 'Slave' written on my face to prevent everyone asking who I was. smile

well, this was the year that the batman movie was actually out in theaters, so the prince videos were pretty fresh in people's minds and he still had a bit of residual relevance from his success earlier in the '80s...so it wasn't such an obscure costume at the time, especially at a college campus. believe it or not!

I swear you can't sneeze here in SF without your snot hitting a party that has a theme or costumes are highly recommended. mad My ex roomie LIVED for these and every time she had to go to a party is was a weeks worth of production and messiness.

I suppose folks here need an extra reason to bust out the costumes from Burning Man
