Digital Camera / Camcorder – I need Help!!!

I’m looking to purchase a SLR camera around $1000 or less that will allow me to take pictures of moving objects and pictures in low light or at night.

Also, I’m looking for a Camcorder that records decent DVD movies.

Help!!!!

Well, I recently got a brand new Nikon D70S and it's friggin' brilliant. You'll be able to take any type of picture with it as long as you know how to use the settings. That goes for all advanced SLR cameras. If you just want something automatic that is custom-made for the situations you're describing you should go for a simple compact camera and not waste your money on the real thing.

For the still camera, you can't go wrong with a Canon 20D. They're fantastic. Of course, you'll need to get lenses for that too, so you'll spend over $1000. It's well worth it though.

I don't know much about the DVD cams. I'd still go with Mini DV.

I agree with Retina, the D70 is a damn good deal. I am saving for a D200 myself, but no need to go that high end.

Depends if the budget is that much of an issue.

If the cash is available, go with the Canon.

I have a Canon GL-2 miniDV camcorder.
I shoot with Canon Digital Rebel.

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
