As all of you U.S. residents know, the postage rate just went up by 2 cents. effective this past Sunday. Unfortunately, I did not find out about it until the day that the increase went into effect. Tonight I went to two different post offices, and they both were out of 2 cent stamps. I have a couple of bills that I need to mail, and I'm wondering how the heck I'm supposed to get them to the companies when I don't have enough postage to cover the cost of mailing.

This is the first time that I remember the post office ever running out of stamps. It's almost like you have to call your local post office and reserve your stamps, since supplies are limited. I heard on the radio that the postage rate is supposed to go up yet AGAIN next year. Hopefully, the post office will have enough stamps to meet the demand.

The machines at my post office were out but they still had the stamps at the counter. I would bet yours will have more soon. Otherwise you could just buy some 39 cent stamps and then use the rest of your 37 cent stamps when you are able to get some 2's in the future.

Actually, the counter at the post office closest to me was sold out as well. Guess I need to call them and find out when they think they will get more in.

i bought new stamps last week. 39 centers

For 39 cents I can write a greeting card or whatever walk to the front door and drop it in a box and in the next few days it will be at the front door of anyone in the country. That's an amazing service provided for 39 cents. You can't even buy a cup of coffee for that.

Some will say email can do this for free but they forget that you have to buy internet access and have a computer.
