The little voice inside your head ...

... does it talk in your voice or not?

Does our little voice have our own accent and vocal peculiarities and inflections?

yes. it is most certainly me and sounds exactly like me. so much so I often find myself talking aloud to myself. it happens all the time. When I catch myself when I'm alone, I don't think anything of it, but when I catch myself doing it when other people are around I can't help but giggle and/or feel silly.

Mine speaks in English, has since I was a kid shrug

It's British, a rather dry upper crust kinda voice. Fucking annoying at times, especially when I'm in the middle of a convo in Swedish! wall

lol i have a little confession of stupidity to make... i tried to read a book written by an author of Indian descent, and i couldn't help hearing a very stereotypical Indian accent while reading... very distracting! lol

other than that, my little voice is bilingual - sometimes i hear it speak English, and sometimes German, depending on the issue at hand.

nuts <-- B1tch

Mine gets me in trouble at times, quite recently I stepped out of my apartment building and it was snowing/raining, you know the mix that we all hate... I muttered "spectacular" ironically under my breath and apparently was overheard by a dog owner walking behind me who recognised me, he said "Sorry but I HAVE TO ask - are you Swedish or English?" I looked at him in a sheepish sorta way and admitted that I'm Swedish. I bet he thinks I'm crazy, talking in English to myself nuts confused

What prompted this thread is that I just got an email from a friend who wrote it as she'd say it. As I read it, I heard it in her voice - it kinda freaked me out because usually I assume that the only voice inside my head is my own.

Now I'm not so sure ...
