Bird Flu: The Answer?

Okay, so here's what happened...

Talking to a housemate last night, I suddenly hit upon the answer to rid us all of bird flu...

KILL ALL BIRDS!

shoot2 dove

Okay, I'm joking (Natisse!) lol but it did set me wondering:

If we did eradicate all birds, what would be the outcome?

~ more worms

~ less nests

~ er, and the whole eco system would collapse

I think I'll stick to less challenging topics next time. lol

Things I wouldn't miss about birds:

~ droppings

~ seagulls' squeals

~ their beady little eyes

~ their 'I can fly, look at me!' arrogance rolleyes

~ loads of things

Interesting question that.

Wiping out all birds would no doubt result in unpredictable changes to the entire ecology of earth. We could attempt to predict what might happen, but I'm not sure we could ever take everything into account. The knock-on effects could not be known, it could even result in worse pandemics caused by uncontrolled populations of any species which no longer had a natural predator had they all been wiped out.

I don't think - even if it becomes necessary - that killing all birds is possible. The only effective way to achieve that would be with, I don't know, some sort of avian virus, perhaps ?

lol

sure it does if you buy the dead chicken at the market and handle its carcass while preparing and before consuming it.

this is how the children in turkey were infected. they were 'playing' with severed chicken heads. look it up

sorry dear. it's just.... the whole world is going mad over this isue. proposals to 'kill every bird on the planet' are as ludicrous as they are retarded, yet people are seriously carrying out this insane program of 'culling' birds in a several-mile radius wherever an incidence of the flu is found. disbelief

i say: stop killing and eating animals. try some nice tofu instead. that way there're no worries about any mad cow disease or bird flu etc.

Turkey! Nobody wants to go there much at the moment lol Poor Turkish people though, their fowl are a big part of their lives what with bringing eggs and meat. sad
