Sick Kitty UPDATE!!!!

Late last night we found a lump on Lucky. He has been fine really, but everything I look at says a lump on a cat means Cancer sad

I am taking him to the vet today.

I am so scared.

Took him to the vet and it turns out it is a fatty tumor, it is quite big though, bigger than I originally felt.

The vet said we'd watch it for the next couple of weeks for growth and then maybe remove it surgically.

Thanks for all your prayers and support grouphug

thanks for the prayers and the optimism

my boy has had a rough life. We got him in germany as a rescue so he is a german cat, allergic to american vaccinations. He used to have seizures, horrible grand mal ones, until someone who also has german cats told me hers were allergic to american vaccines. Hasn't had his shots in 3 years and no seizures either. He has some kidney damage as well, managed with diet.

My poor boy, I hope what you say is true, and he will continue to be healthy and happy.

Aw, honey, I'm sorry to hear your kitty has a lump. hug It might be nothing, though.
My dog had a lump near his mouth and I thought it might have been cancer too. It turned out to be a tooth abcess. I'll say a little prayer for your kitty. I love animals and can't bear to see them suffer.

I know exactly how you feel, and I mean exactly. I discovered the same thing on my cat when she was ten, and unfortunately they had to put her down, as it was cancer.

You're doing a good thing bringing your cat in quickly. This way there won't be any suffereing if the worst case scenario is there. Good luck and stay strong. I know how terrifying this time is.

my 10 y.o. white cat got a big scab on her nose and the vet said it was skin cancer and he should operate the nose off right away. We took some time to think which would be better, to put her down or have her without a nose. In the meantime the scab fell off and her nose was as good as new. She lived another 7 years after that!

Thanks. The best thing to do is not assume anything. Don't try to play Vet at home and diagnose him. I tried doing that and it just led to mental torture.

Just spend as much time with him as possible and try to stay sane while it gets sorted out. Orgnote me any time you need to talk to about this.
