GO LONGHORNS!!!
We went to a HUGE Rose Bowl party last night here in Austin There were close to 100 people, maybe more. We had soooo much fun!!! That was one of the best games I've ever seen!!! I couldn't believe that UT somehow pulled it out in the final seconds. USC is a GREAT team no doubt, but the Longhorns managed to win. Everyone was crying after the final score!! We were just in shock. The was a great view of Austin from where we were, and we could see the UT tower lit-up orange. It was just so exciting. Then my husband and I went down to 6th street and people were going nuts there, too. We didn't see any violence or overzealous fans. People were just screaming,honking their horns while driving around, or just celebrating in the streets. Ohhh and the Christmas lights were still up, so downtown Austin looked so festive! EVeryone was just so happy. We didn't get home till after 1:00 AM, and on a work night that's late for us. Anyway, I just can't tell ya how happy and proud Austin is today!! USC is a great team. So even though UT won, really BOTH of the teams deserve to National Champions. Too bad there could be only one winner, and I'm sooooo happy that UT earned that national title. | |

I won 200 bucks on this game. Vince Young proved what everyone in outside of the media hype knew and ESPN overlooked while they slurped USC all year, that he VY is one of the greatest players in college football history. Just as electrifying as Reggie Bush and as good of a passer as Matt Leinart. Young is the two of them combined and he put on one hell of a show last night. I have never seen anything like that. Kudos to USC, they are a fitting champion and played one hell of a game, but I just got tired of everyone giving them the trophy in December like Texas was some slouch with no talent. That was an amazing game and an incredible performance. Vince Young was like Jordan out there, just doing anything he wanted. Congratulations, Texas.
