Okay, Org. I badly need your help on something urgent. Okay, this is gonna be hard to explain. Basically, I live in Ontario, Canada and am in a long-distance relationship with this girl in California.
She's only five months away from graduating as a Nurse, but the problem is that she lives with her divorced father, who is a completely abusive asshole who's threatening to kick her out to her mother in Vancouver (even though she hasn't done ANYTHING). She has another place in California to go to while she finishes her Nursing course, but her father is saying that he'll call the cops on them if they take her in. He's a complete tyrant. What I need now is some sort of evidence online that, under California Law, he can't legally do shit about it if she leaves to stay with them rather than go to stay with her mother in Canada. She's nineteen years old. Please, I'm really desperate here. She doesn't wanna flush all her progress in College down the toilet. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Well...as far as I understand it, he can't do shit to her if she's over the age of 18. She's an adult and she can go where she likes. | |

When someone hits 18 no one can calm them unless awarded by a court. In other words, she should be her own person. I am not sure what she sudgests he will call the police on "them/her" for. Most often that's just a bullshit threat. However, unless you know her for a fact, and even if you do, don't send her MONEY. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

I think I just found what I was looking for:
7505. The authority of a parent ceases on any of the following: (a) The appointment, by a court, of a guardian of the person of the child. (b) The marriage of the child. (c) The child attaining the age of majority. Okay, good. I swear, I wanna fucking kill this guy. If he sees even just one broom out of place, he screams at her at the top of his lungs. However, unless you know her for a fact, and even if you do, don't send her MONEY. Nah, don't worry about that. We've spent tons of time together (like, in person and intimately) and have been in love for two years. We're just waiting for her to graduate before we make plans to live together. Thanks a lot, guys. Nah, I won't do anything, but I definitely don't seek his approval in the future anymore. I hate abusive fathers.  The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
