I know that they were, at least to Massachusetts, a gift from some explorer or something like that...

I've never seen a black squirrel here! They are in Western Mass. I can't remember what town they actually were given to, but they are everywhere out there!

One of those suckers got into my apartment last year. Chewed through some wire and actually came into my bedroom from my mom's room on the other side of the house. Imagine how I damn near shit my pants when I awoke to find him staring at me. I got up and ran him back through the house to the window. Damn critter was smart. I sealed up the window (or so I thought). A few days later, I hear small footsteps coming through the house. I sit up in bed and there he is again! This time, I cornered him and dude was so scared he just shittin' little black turds. So, I chased him all the way back to my mom's room, where he ran back through the window. I had to clean up squirrel shit - not my idea of a fun time. Later that fall, I had to take my air conditioner out of the window (I usually just cover it with plastic) 'cause Mr. Squirrel and his family were making a nest inside the window sill - they had gnawed out a big portion of the wood...
They're cute - just don't let them bastards get in your house... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth
