Ugh, people have to stop with this squirrel shit! They are rodents and not pets! The other day at Whole Foods I saw ORGANIC SQUIRREL FOOD! Come on!!!

people who are on the "squirrels are just rats" platform are just big meanies. i used to have a squirrel that came by my kitchen windowsill all the time, and it would stretch its little paws out on my screen until i slid a piece of bread or something out on the ledge for it to eat.

i never tried to pet it in any way, though - i DO agree that squirrels aren't pets. they will BITE your ass and give you RABIES - but they're fun to interact with. i think they have far more personality than even domesticated rats. so there.

well, the little squirrel i mentioned above used to bark and lunge at me sometimes when i'd slide food out for it, but there was a screen between us so i didn't exactly feel threatened by it.

we had baby squirrels last spring that grew up near my dog, so they love to bug the heck out of her by standing just farther than her leash will allow...



and in Massachusetts, as well as some other states, they have Black Squirrels--they are cool!
