Steadwoods Surprise Visitor................... Hi there..... 
...Hope you are all enjoying the New Year... 
...And you had some awesome celebrations last night...   
...We did in Steadwood Land .....some more than others... 
....and largely due to a surprise Guest....  
....This was the scene early this morning.... 
....As you can see ....there were some sore heads..... 
This is how it all began..... 
.....In the latter hours of last night....while everyone was getting ready for the New Year....and the Twins had just been put to bed..... .....Ma Rosewood heard what she thought was the front door slamming 
...So she ventured to see what it was..... ....But all she noticed was a certain smell drifting through the cave...
....It was a scent which she didn't recognise... She was worried.... 
....and as you can see from the expression on her face...not a very nice smell at that 
...As she ventured through the cave in search of the smell....(brave woman) ....The smell got ever stronger....she needed a tissue to cover her nose... 
Eventually it became so bad that she couldn't go any further..... but it seemed to be coming from the the bathroom..... should we take a look and see?....
Are you sure?... 
Are you very sure?..... 
Ok then.....but be warned..... 
Just what is causing this smell..... 
Just What/Who is that? 
Of Course.....Of Course ...Who else could it have been..... 
ALTHOMWOOD! 
He's come to visit for the New Year.....

Well.....This is a surprise.....
.....Who'd have thought it..... althomwood coming to visit for the New Year... 
....Anyway..... ....As althomwood came out into the cave.....He paused to look at Ma.....sort of acknowledging her.... 
....Ma was thrilled ....as you can see... 
....He then proceded on his way through the cave ....as if he had lived there all his life.....
....Then.....he stumbled across Brother Redwood .... ...Just as he was getting supplies for the evening....
....althomwood stood there .....looking at Brother Redwood.....HUNGRILY!....
....He spied the supplies....and dragged Brother Redwood off....
Ma was having a job coping with the excitement of meeting althomwood... 
....and needed a drink....
Meanwhile.....althomwood and Brother Redwood meander their way through the cave.....

Now.....It's fair to say althomwood doesn't really know his way through the cave ...
....especialkly seeing as he's only been here 30 minutes ....or so we think...
...So....it comes as no surprise when....while trying to find a quiet room to drink his booty....
....That he stumbles on the very room which is set up for the party....
.....Not that that bothers althomwood...
Brother Redwood isn't easy with this....It's usually him who gets the blame...and he's been trying to keep his nose clean lately... 
...But althomwood is already eyeing the food up....
.....He isn't shy at tucking in either...
....Luckily for Brother Redwood....this is where we march in... ....wondering what the strange smell was drifting around..... 
...."It wasn't me guv" ....Bleats althomwood.... ....as we catch him redhanded with a sausage in his hand...
....(We hear he gets caught like this quite often) 
It's New Year though.... ....So we crack open the drinks..... ....More food can be cooked tomorrow.... ...as we bring in the New Year with althomwood.... 
This isn't quite the end though...

Well.....This brings us to where we started....
....A few sore heads.....
....and it's fair to say that althomwood woke up in peices too...
...So we left him to pull himself together...
...and went to get freshened up.... 
....It was pouring down outside..... ....and Pa was still feeling a bit tipsy...
....So he went for a stroll in the rain.....with the Twins following him..... ....Then he decided to do his version of "Singing in the Rain" ...
...The twins loved it....splashing about.... .....and so they joined in 
....Pa was really getting into it....
.....But luckily came to his senses before the Gnome Police found him....and he came back ....Feeling a little better....with the Twins trailing behind ....Then I noticed Brother Redwood sneaking out....
....So I followed him at a distance..... I have a firm grip on reality...Maybe just not this reality |

As I followed Brother Redwood ...I noticed he had what seemed to be an arm full of letters...
....Sure enough....he went right up to the post box and started posting them.....
.....I decided to ask him what he was posting on New Years day.....
....He said he was posting Christmas cards....
....When I pointed out that Christmas had gone he semed totally unphased.... ...."I was just late in posting them".....he said....
...."and who are they to"....I asked..... ....His answer astounded me....
..."They are to all of you of course" he said quite seriously.... ....."But we are HERE".....I said ....exasperated..... 
.....But too late.....while we were talking he had posted the lot..... 
....So ....Off we trundled back home..... ....When we got back ...the first folks we bumped into were Robinwood and Bluewood..... ....I asked Brother Redwood to tell Robinwood what he had just been doing.... ...."You stupid boy" said Robinwood....as Bluewood sat and giggled..
Then in marched althomwood....
....Robinwood turned to him asking where he had just surfaced from..... ....and at the same time decided Brother Redwood wasn't that silly after all..... 
..."umm.....I've been nowhere"....said althomwood.....convincvingly.... I have a firm grip on reality...Maybe just not this reality |

Robinwood didn't quite swallow this story.....
....so off we all marched back to the party room where all the New Year Days goodies had been prepared... ....and there it was..... ...GONE!.....
...Robinwood Chirped his discontent at althomwood..... ....as Brother Redwood tactlessly decided to try tucking into a bag of chocolates...
...."Put Them DOWN".....screeched Robinwood..... ..."Hopefully we can salvage something out of Ma Rosewoods hard work" ....He said.... ...and with that Robinwood started working his magic on some fresh food 
....While Bluewood sniffed out some fresh sweet goodies for the table..... 
...and althomwood was..... ....er..... ....althomwood...
....Very soon the party goodies were prepared... ....just as everyone walked in..... ....and the party began..... ....complete with althomwood ...What would New Year be without him....
....Happy New Year.....Hope all works well for you all...
