What languages do you speak?

... just curious.

I speak English and a little German but nothing else unfortunately.

My father speaks at least five languages and my sister is fluent in two.

How about you?

I speak fluent Spanish. I learned English. I can understand a little French, because of my 2 year French classes in high school.

I speak Swedish, English, French and Norweigan (the last two to a somewhat limited extent).

I also know enough German and Portuguese to be able to understand the newspapers in those languages reasonably well.

Other than that, I just know a few words in Cantonese and Spanish.

That's basically it.

The good thing is that Portuguese is kind of French and Spanish mixed together.

I speak only English fluently, but I could survive using French. I can throw around a bit of Latin after some years of schooling in it (I read it far more extensively), and a teeny tiny bit of Hebrew I've picked up from my neighbors. I'd like to brush up on all of them.

...My wife speaks fluent French, though, so I technically can claim that -- as the Bible suggests we've "become one." biggrin
