The only good thing about a hangover is the fun that got you there! And sometimes, yeah, it's worth it. biggrin

don't get pregnant then, that's like 20 weeks of hangover without any drinks sad

I hate hen nights. I really don't enjoy large female gatherings, especially if male strippers are involved - I'd far rather see female belly dancers or other entertainment but men stripping leaves me cold.

Perhaps it stems back to a hen night experience I had when a stripper really embarrassed me. And another time when I got picked on by a comedian because I was female and sitting in the front row.

Don't get me wrong - I love evenings out with my close girlfriends and I love girlie talk. My friends and I don't get into one another's sex lives though - well, only a little bit, but it's never too personal. We don't talk about our men like men seem to think we might. It's mainly about problem-solving I guess.

But large all girl gatherings I really don't enjoy. I'd rather be in mixed company.

How about you? What type of social situations do you most enjoy or most dislike?

I definitely feel you on the female gatherings take. I don't have many female friends because women are so damn devious. Especially, and i mean especially, if you have a good thing going with your boyfriend...females be hatin' like crazy "why you with him for, he's broke, he can't dress right, where do he work at girl?? Damn thats it??" and if they got a bf too then they love to compare and contrast your shit with theirs...it never fuckin' fails

the #1 mistake a woman can make is telling their girlfriends all their business because there is always one female out the bunch that's gonna yap yap yap behind your back..yet they buy the same shit you buy, try to dress like you, etc.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

You're not unusual. I love the company of my mates and a big night out but I hate stag nights/bachelor parties. I can think of nothing more boring than a large group of men and strippers.

Strippers are boring and i always feel embarassed for them.

woot! I love this ... I always feel guilty about trying to skip all-female outings and it seems that there are a lot of us who feel the same about same-sex gatherings.

It's sweet that you feel embarrassed for the strippers hug

I don't mind girls night out at all... strippers are okay too... mind you, I barely ever get together w/ my married girlfriends lol I'd be glad if we could just manage to go to lunch once a year confused

I've never done the big female group thing. It's usually one on one w/ a friend.

What I do hate though is when you go to a friend's house for a gathering (usually a married friend, & most of their friends are married too lol ) & the two groups form - men in one room, women in the kitchen neutral I try to split my time - the guys are outside or in the livingroom watching the game & I love basketball love But then I feel weird being the only chick in the room 'cause I feel like they want me to leave or something lol they probably do mad

And when I'm in the kitchen w/ the women all they wanna talk about is kids & giving birth & what little Timmy is doing in school ill Until I have one of those little fuckers I cannot deal w/ this as conversation for more than 10 minutes no no no!

So that's what I hate - gatherings where you really don't fit in w/ anyone there hrmph
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Large gatherings ALWAYS suck goat's ass anyway. What I hate most is that absolutely everybody is trying to pretend they're having a good time. They're not, it's very easy to tell.

Reincarnate I could not agree with everything you said more! I love hanging with my girlfriends, but I prefer being in big groups of both men and women. Ive always been a big tomboy, and I like the company of men, but not in a flirty way! They can just be easier to talk to than women sometimes. And Im dreading my friends getting married because theyll probably want to get a stripper or something, and yuk! No thankyou disbelief My hen night, should it ever happen, will be a quiet affair! Why change who I am because Ive chosen boyfriend-for-life?! Dont make sense!

For me, some things were meant for behind closed doors nod

yay! I'm glad there are a few of us who feel the same way.

I have fallen out with friends in the past I'm afraid to say, because I've found an excuse not to attend a hen night when I've known it's a huge party of girls/women and strippers. I hate to feel pressured to attend these things and of course I'd go if it were a close friend, but basically if I can avoid going, I will.

yay! Reincarnate, if I get married, you can come to my hen night, which will be a nice queit meal or something! No men invited!!!

I can see me falling out with friends over it, one of my closest friends is the opposite to me in this respect, and she knows that I dont have much patience for things when Im not up for it, so Im sure shes dreading asking me to come as much as Im dreading it happening! Not for a while yet though at least!

EXACTLY!! I can't count the number of times I've been the only woman in a group and the convo topics got less than housebroken... then somebody who didn't know me well enough would notice me and start elbowing the others to pipe down. They'd just laugh and say that I didn't mind. My friend Ola has called me a "dickless guy". I'm very proud. nod

I remember working at a company where I was definately one of the lads and the company had just connected to the internet (must have been around 96 or 97).

Nobody had the internet at home apart from me, and the guys started talking about how to access porn (it was before the company had ever thought of writing up company guidelines and discliplinary procedures).

Anyway, I did the obvious and piped up "I'll show you how to do it". So I did a search and found a porn site. I had around a dozen of my male friends crowded around my PC at this stage and I could see their faces reflected on the screen. Anyway, the site downloaded really slowly and I was watching their faces as the pic of this lady came on the screen ... first naked breasts, then a stomach and then a bag of onions - then a lone onion was inserted into her "region" .... all the guys were doing this omg (actually, so was I) - but it was so funny seeing their faces reflected on my screen.

I think they were more shocked because it had been me that had downloaded the site for them. When I left the company the guys I worked with got me a bag of onions biggrin

I loved working in an office which was nearly all men - actually I really miss that now. What I didn't like, though, was when I'd go to lunch with them and there would be rumours that I was having an affair with one or other of them). It used to annoy me as it was all very innocent. But we had great times and were all pals, nothing more.

I know what you mean. I have a great friend here at work and have many quality conversations and fun times together, but other co-workers right away start insinuating that we're having an affair or something (she's married as well). It's like I want to tell them "Grow the fuck up!" confused

when i was in high school i used to perfer the company of men to the company of women but that changed as i got older. Now i don't have any perference i just don't like drunken fools and backstabbers. actually, sometimes drunken fools can be okay if they have a sense of humor about themselves.

i also hate parties where i everyone is just standing around and talking. i would much rather go out dancing or go to dinner with a good friend or two. I like more low key things with only a few people if there's no dancing involved but if there is dancing involved then there can be a million people and i wouldn't care! dancing jig

and as far as male strippers go...i find it interesting that women are suppose to find them so irrestibly sexy when it seems like most don;t find them this way at all. male strippers confuse me. i guess i don't understand why they're doing this.
