My parents came to visit me in December for the first time since I moved away to Tennessee in 2004. I'd been back home many times since then, but they hadn't been able to see the life I've been building until last December. We had a great time. I absolutely hated to have to drop them off at the airport.

she just called me after getting on the highway, asked what i was doing, i said, im crying, what are you doing ? she said, well, im driving down the highway with a very heavy heart.... and then she started to cry.....


my mom is in michigan ONLY to take care of her parents in their old age.. my grandfather died about 9 or 10 months after she got there, and now she is there with just grandma. i dont want my grandma to be alone.... but its difficult to see her gone so much of my kids life, and to not have her here, and to know that its breaking her heart as much as it is mine....

my folks look after my mom's mom. she's too old to look after herself too. the part that bugs me the most is that my folks are quite tied to looking after my granny. it's a great thing that they are doing this but i just wish they had a bit more freedom to have some fun.

You are very lucky to have your mum as your best friend. Mine is nice but after 2 days I want her to leave again, she drives me nuts! We have very incompatable energy levels - she needs an off switch!
