Next to that, 'Marie' is said to mean 'pearl of the sea', something like that.

DAMON
Gender: Masculine
Usage: Greek Mythology, English
Other Scripts: Δαμων (Greek)
Pronounced: DAY-mahn [key]
Extra Info: Popularity, Namesakes, Comments
Options: Contribute Information, Add to List
Derived from Greek δαμαω (damao) meaning "to tame". According to Greek legend, Damon and Pythias were friends who lived on Syracuse in the 4th century BC. When Pythias was sentenced to death, he was allowed to temporarily go free on the condition that Damon take his place in prison. Pythias returned just before Damon was to be executed in his place, and the king was so impressed with their loyalty to one another that he pardoned Pythias.

Helen92

Possibly from either Greek ‘ελενη (helene) "torch" or "corposant", or Greek σεληνη (selene) "moon". In Greek mythology Helen was the daughter of Zeus and Leda, whose kidnapping by Paris was the cause of the Trojan War. The name was also borne by Saint Helena, mother of the Roman emperor Constantine, who supposedly found the True Cross during a trip to Jerusalem. Another famous bearer was Helen Keller, the American author and lecturer who was both blind and deaf.

The meaning of this name is not known for certain, but it is possibly connected to the French name Violante which means "violet".
