Hitchcock!!

I like the old thrillers by Alfred Hitchcock, and i`m sure many others on the org feel the same way. I especially like Vertigo and North by northwest. What are your favorites?

oooh, i love Hitchcock. i haven't seen all his movies yet though.
there was a great box set about 4 years ago, a white and a black
one that covered all his movies.

i still regret not having bought it.

i love Hitchcock trivia as well. sometimes you read a biografy
by other people and out of nowhere Hitchcock pops up.

like in Dorothy Parker's bio, there's a bit on how she plays a
tiny part (about 20 seconds) in "Saboteur" and how she would go
to the theatre over and over again just to watch that bit

shame there were no dvd players at the time, might have saved
poor Dorothy a lot of money lol.

"Rebecca" is one of my favs out of the ones i've seen this far!

others I liked a lot were "rear window" and "vertigo". although
i don't particularly care more for "the birds". don't see why
that one gets so much attention. it's a very good movie but its
on par with his other work imo.

thumbs up! I liked "The Birds" though. smile The book Rebecca's good too. smile "Spellbound","Marnie" and "Dial M for Murder" used to be on heavy rotation on AMC.....but they replaced AMC with Turner Classic Movies. They rarely show AH movies on that channel. I don't care how much attention "Psycho" gets.....it deserves it, imo.

You know your movie history IstenSzek clapping I love his his movies too, because they don`t focus on violence, blood and guts, but they can still scare the shit out of me, and that`s what i want when i see a thriller. I personally like "the birds", although it can get a little ugly at times. I haven`t seen Rebecca, maybe that`s next nod
I bought a collection called "the signature collection" today, can`t wait to see the movies woot!

Yes, both are brilliant nod James Stewart is one of my favorite actors, and i think Hitchcock brought out the best in him.

Rear Window and Rebecca are probably my favourites but I also like Rope, which I find totally chilling.

When I was 6-8 years old I would always go to the library and check all his books out. They would always ask me why I check them out because I was too young.

Love the man!!

I love old Hitchy. He's proper bo! woot!

There's just too many gems to post as a favourite. Although in saying that, I'd like to mention "Rope" coz it doesn't quite get the share of the same limelight as it deserves.
