You know what. I never thought of it that way. Maybe I should see it in the perspective. I haven't seen it at all.

I went to see Hulk with friends who aren't movie snobs like I am and they hated it because there was too much time spent on character development. And it also was very different from the comic book, but if you never read the book, how would you know?

I understand where you're coming from because I am a film snob myself, although I also enjoy bad movies sometimes. I think I might have been dissapointed with the Hulk also because I would've expected a no brain, action, special effects movie. I would've had to switch gears pretty fast.

The Hulk doesn't appear in the movie until after about an hour. My friends were really pissed off about that. Before then the film was all about exploring the suppressed rage of Bruce Banner and his complex relationship with love interest Betty and her relationship with her father, Hulk nemesis, General Thunderbolt Ross.

I just saw it and...damn cry

I loved how Jack was so in love with Ennis that his other encounters were attempts to be close to him. Ennis was so faithful to Jack, even in the end. I was touched by this film

I don't think anyone had anything to do with Jack's death. I think he just came out to the wrong people. It seemed like he was going to have an encounter with those boys and they tricked him, just like with Matthew Shephard. Ennis was so affected by what his father exposed him to that he couldn't bring himself to having a life with Jack. How fucked up for Jack sigh

...I'm still thinking about this...

I didn't get what he meant by "Jack, I swear" anybody got an idea?

There was just something creepy and almost cryptic about the things the father said. When he said something like, "I'll tell you what, I know where Brokeback Mountain is. And he's gonna be buried in the family plot." It sounded to me like "Tell you what, I know about this homo shit. And if my son chose damnation in life, he'll get some salvation in death." Or some shit like that. Plus that line about all Jack's ideas becoming the past. He was so emotionless on the surface but seemed to convey something sinister under the surface, if you catch my drift.

I just interpreted that as meaning he knew all about his son's secret life and that he didn't like it and it isn't so bad that he's dead. But to actually have a hand in his death would have been over the top. I mean to kill your own son is some crazy, Marvin Gaye Sr.-type shit. Jake's dad didn't come across that way to me.

I saw it as both his parents knew, but weren't angry about it. His dad seemed more angry that Ennis couldn't love his son the way he wanted. He said something about Jack telling him about Ennis coming up there with him to live and fix the place up and he also made it a point to say "This spring, he started talking' about another fella and that he was going to leave his wife." I think the father made it a point to say that to Ennis to let him know "You fucked up"

That's what I loved about the movie. So much of it was open to interpretation, character's actions, feelings, even the plot in places. It has this really amazing dream quality: Your life passes by so quickly that all you can do is just hold on to your interpretation of things.
