Dan Brown--his books turn the pages by themselves.

I've yet to read the Da Vinci Code, but I did read Angels & Demons and Digital Fortress recently. I'm waiting for DVC to come out in paperback.

I do have a bit of a problem with him. I like the plots a lot (well A&D anyway; DF was kind of ho-hum) but he's a fairly poor writer.

Anxiety

ah...i forgot all about KURT VONNEGUT. one year when i was a teenager, i went on a crusade to read all his books back-to-back...it was a great experience, and i've been thinking a lot about re-reading them all. i remember my faves were 'deadeye dick', 'galapagos', 'breakfast of champions' and...egh...the one about the psychic twins that they made the bad jerry lewis movie from...i forget the name of it...the BOOK was good, anyway...

He's not a good writer, except that the plots are fun and I get into them very easily. His characters are all the same, his books are the same, and he has no style whatsoever. But I have enjoyed his books as much as just about any author's.

Tough one... I'd say Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde and James Baldwin are probably my three favorites.

I like them both. Both were/are such MASS writers. I read everything by both, although there are times I just cannot stomach another DiscWorld® Novel. There's too much.

Then. Going Postal comes out... and here we go again

Agatha. She is golden. Love her for Miss Marple and writing SUCH an unlikeable character like Hercules Poirot. Morse ain't worth nothing compared to Poirot.

Also, if you like crime-thrillers, then you GOT to check out Natsuo Kirino. She writes amazing books.

Her novel 'Out' blew me away.
